While Olin anticipates becoming the model for engineering education in the 21st century, Babson already has the nation's premier program in entrepreneurship. And because engineering and business are becoming increasingly intertwined in today's world, a partnership between the two colleges makes perfect sense. Olin students will strengthen their business and entrepreneurial skills; Babson students will have the opportunity to expand their base of technological knowledge.
Olin and Babson already formed a strong collaborative relationship during the start-up phase of Olin's existence. Olin and Babson share library holdings, centralized purchasing offices, dining facilities, recreational facilities, and campus safety facilities. Although the two campuses will cooperate in academic programming and will share certain facilities and services, they will each maintain independent financial resources, governance, identity, and style.
