Olin College was created to meet the changing needs of today's corporate environment. Our students not only receive rigorous training in science and engineering fundamentals, but also education in business management and entrepreneurship, the arts and humanities. This 360-degree education prepares our students for success in a number of fields and environments. They make exceptional interns and strong prospects for future employees. We also welcome the opportunity to partner with companies in any number of endeavors. Starting a school from scratch allows for unlimited opportunities for collaboration.

Community Relations

Olin is committed to having a strong relationship with our community. We are proud to make Needham one of the newest college towns in America and feel lucky to be located in such a charming and welcoming area. Keeping in close touch with town officials and participating in town events are high priorities for Olin.

As philanthropy is one of the founding precepts of Olin College, we are committed to giving back to our community. Olin works to improve the local schools through its support of the Needham Education Foundation’s annual Spelling Bee. Olin students are involved directly in community projects through SERV, the student-led service organization. SERV has an active Habitat for Humanity group and hosts many other ongoing and short-term service projects.

Dialogues in Engineering Education

Olin prides itself on being a model for a new kind of engineering education. Over the years since Olin’s founding, the College has hosted many teams of visitors from a diverse range of institutions and has shared information about its innovations in curriculum, IT, infrastructure, student life and other areas. In turn, Olin has also learned a great deal from other institutions in our common goal and challenge of implementing reform in engineering education.
