Biography
Rae-Anne Butera became the Dean of Student Affairs in July 2013. In this role, she is responsible for the quality of student life outside the classroom, as well as for providing opportunities for students to develop skills and interests beyond their academic course work. Among her areas of responsibility are social, cultural and spiritual programs; academic advising; residence life; sports and recreation; health and counseling services; student conduct matters; study away; services for international students; accessibility services; and emergency and crisis management. Prior to joining the Olin community, she served for 12 years as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the First Year Experience at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
