From the East

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 15 (Interstate 95/Route 128). After the tolls, follow the signs for Route 95/128 South. Exit Route 95/128 South at exit 19B (Highland Avenue, Needham). Follow Highland Avenue for 1.5 miles to a three-way intersection with Chapel and May Streets; bear slight right onto Chapel Street (to the right of the gas station). Take a right at the first light onto Great Plain Avenue/Rte 135. Then follow "From Great Plain Avenue" directions below.

From the West

From the North or South

Take Route 95/128 to exit 19B (Highland Avenue, Needham). Take a right at the first light onto Great Plain Avenue/Rte 135. Then follow "From Great Plain Avenue" directions below.

From Great Plain Avenue

Proceed on Great Plain Avenue for 1.5 miles and the Olin College campus will be on the right. Enter the campus at "Olin Way" and follow the road around to the left to parking lot A, which provides access to all campus buildings. Most administrative offices, including the Admission Office and the President's Office, are in the "Olin Center," which is the first building to the right, as you walk up from the main lot. Handicap parking is available.

By Train

Olin College is accessible by commuter rail from Boston on the Needham line. The line originates at Boston's South Station, and may also be boarded at Boston's Back Bay Station. The nearest commuter rail stop to Olin College is Needham Center, which is located at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Eaton Square. The college is a short taxi ride from Needham Center.

Amtrak's NortheastDirect Service stops at Route 128 in Westwood, about six miles from Needham. From there, take a taxi to Olin College. Amtrak continues on to Boston's South Station, where commuter rail service is available (see above).

Transportation From Logan Airport

The nearest major airport to Olin College is Boston's Logan Airport. The easiest, albeit costliest, way to and from the airport is to take a cab. Taxi stands are located at each Logan Airport terminal. The cost is approximately $45-50 each way. Allow 30-50 minutes for the trip.

If renting a car, ask the rental company for directions to the Ted Williams Tunnel. Upon entering the tunnel, you must pay a $3.00 toll. After exiting the second tunnel, merge onto the Mass Pike (I-90). After several miles, you must pay a $1.00 toll (Exact Change lanes mean coins only!), but continue to follow the Mass Pike, and take Exit 15 for Rte. 95/128 South. Another $1.00 toll is required after exiting. Follow web directions to campus for "From the North or South" and "From Great Plain Avenue."

To get to Olin College via public transportation, take the Massport shuttle bus from the terminal to the Blue Line subway, Airport station. Take the Blue Line in the direction of Government Center three stops to State Street. Exit the Blue Line and take the Orange Line (free transfer) in the direction of Forest Hills. Go four stops to Back Bay Station, and follow the above directions for travel by commuter rail.

An alternative route is to take the Logan Express shuttle from Framingham. The Logan Express shuttle stop is located near Shoppers’ World and goes to and from the airport every half-hour Monday-Friday from 4:00 am to 11 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 11 pm. On Saturdays and Sunday mornings, the service runs once an hour. The cost is $9 each way or $16 round trip. Shopper’s World is about a 20-25 minute drive away from campus and there is paid parking available. The cost for parking is $8.00/day, $48.00/week. Helpful Tip: Major airlines offer surprisingly competitive fares to the Boston area through T. F. Green Airport in Providence/Warwick, Rhode Island, and Manchester Airport in New Hampshire. These airports are approximately one hour by car from Olin College via Interstate 95 (Providence/Warwick) or Interstate 93 (Manchester).
