Points of Distinction:

  • 88 students received diplomas yesterday, the 13th class to graduate from Olin.  This brings our total number of alumni to 990.  

 

  • 98% of these graduating seniors have done at least one technical internship or research assignment in their time at Olin.
    • 89% did 2 or more.

Employment

  • An interesting point about this class is how clearly it illustrates Olin’s ‘expanding footprint.’ 
    • 54 graduates have been hired by 46 different companies.  
    • 18 of those are new employers for the college (noted with * below).

* One additional graduate will pursue art history classes at Wellesley College, with plans to eventually go on to graduate school for art.

  • Fulbright
    • 2 Winners (1 Senior, 1 Alumnus)
      • The senior Fulbright recipient will teach English in Taiwan
      • A 2016 alumnus turned down the Fulbright to pursue graduate school

 

  • National Science Foundation (NSF)  Graduate Research Fellowships
    • 1 Winner, 1 Honorable Mention (Both Alumni)
      • A ‘14 Grad will attend MIT, Computer Science and AI Lab, PhD
      • A ’16 Grad received an Honorable Mention
