East Hall is a 182 bed student residence hall currently under construction
at Olin College.
Building features are:
The majority of the building will be four stories tall. In addition, there will be a lower level
in the east wing. Each entire floor will be at the same elevation - no stairs between the east wing and the rest of the building, as is the case in West Hall.
There will be 19 suites, each containing six single occupancy bedrooms, a small living room, two bathroom areas, and a suite-sized microfridge. There will also be 32 double occupancy bedrooms very similar to those in West Hall.
The lower level will have the laundry room, two music practice rooms, an exercise room, and a large bicycle storage room. Some of the building’s mechanical spaces will be located on this level. The Public Safety Office will be relocated from its current location in West Hall to a room on the lower level, with an entrance directly from the outside.
A student kitchenette, staff apartment, and faculty apartment will be located on the first floor.
Floors 1-4 will each have a central lounge, two group study rooms, and an R2 room.
The attics will have space for long-term storage (trunks, suitcases, etc.) and building mechanical spaces.
