Juliana was a member of the second graduating class of Olin College of Engineering, where she earned her bachelor’s ME degree. She received her doctorate in materials science from UC Santa Barbara for developing new materials for personnel protection using biologically-inspired designs. Juliana has taught Materials Science courses at Olin and has been part of the Collaboratory since 2012, working with partner institutions to develop new engineering programs. Juliana currently lives in a small village in the Netherlands, where she works as a research scientist and enjoys commuting every day on her bike. In addition to her professional activities, Juliana enjoys mentoring, playing sports, and visiting museums. She is thrilled to be part of the Collaboratory!
