  • Loves flea markets and believes they are a great way to add to his expansive coin collection. Focus of personal collection is now on early American copper coins, specifically the cent and half-cent. 
  • For many years participated in College Bowl trivia contest and has even been a contestant on some game shows.
  • After years of doing math and logic puzzles, recently “graduated” to word puzzles. A card-carrying member of the National Puzzlers League and a former member of the United States team for the World Puzzle Championships.
  • Captained a team that has won the MIT Mystery Hunt three times, which means he has also run (with many friends) the hunt (as that’s the prize for winning). Visit www.mit.edu/~puzzle to see hunts in 2000, 2002, and 2005.
  • Co-owns a home in western Somerville that still needs lots of work and cleaning.
