Olin Board Names New Trustee, Reappoints Former Member

The Olin College Board of Trustees has named Greg Marra, a member of the Class of 2010, as a trustee and reappointed Sherwin Greenblatt, who had previously served on the Board from 2007 to 2017.

Marra is director of product management at Facebook, where he manages the news feed integrity team, working to prevent spam and manipulation of the feed. Given the growing importance of Facebook’s stream of photos, videos and articles to its users understanding of current events, a New York Times article noted Marra is “fast becoming one of the most influential people in the news business.” Prior to working at Facebook, Marra was associate product manager at Google.

Greenblatt is director of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, which supports innovation and entrepreneurial activity in the MIT community. The holder of bachelor’s and master’s degrees from MIT, Greenblatt served as executive vice president and treasurer of the institution from 2005 - 07, and from 2008 – 09 was the interim executive vice president and CEO of the MIT Alumni Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of Bose Corporation. For Olin, he is heading up the Route 128/I-95 Project, a key corporate outreach effort.

“We are delighted, and extremely fortunate to have Board-level counsel of Sherwin and Greg,” said Olin President Richard K. Miller. “Not only do they bring experience and perspectives in key areas of importance to us, they also bring a deep knowledge and understanding of Olin and its transformative mission.”
