Dear Fellow Olin Parents:
Having served on the Parent Advisory Board (PAB) since my son, Connor ’12, was a freshman, I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting many of you through various events and activities. As the 2011-12 Chair of the PAB, it is my honor to continue serving the Olin community, and I look forward to meeting even more of you this year.
As Olin Parents, we are thankful for and proud of the many indicators of the College’s very successful ascent to-date:
We can also take pride in the role that Parents have and will continue to play in the success of this new College. With fewer than 500 young men and women in its alumni ranks, high levels of Parent involvement and support remain critical to helping plan and execute many of the events and activities that have become important parts of the Olin experience. Click volunteering to learn more about becoming involved in the PAB’s efforts to help assure the continued development and success of the College.
Parents have also demonstrated their commitment to the College through strong participation in annual giving, which has exceeded 80% in recent years - - a level unmatched by any other college in the country! Parent giving helps support important need-based scholarships and educational improvement initiatives, and the PAB strongly encourages 100% of Parents to make a gift. Every gift - - regardless of the amount - - is important since parent participation is a key indicator that foundations and other organizations take into consideration when deciding on their own gifts and grants to Olin. Please click parent giving to help us achieve our goal of 100% participation.
Finally, Parents can help Olin connect with other people and organizations that may also be interested in a becoming involved with the College. New relationships can yield a myriad of benefits, including internship and job opportunities, new SCOPE sponsors, and potentially even new sources of financial support for the College. Help expand the Olin network today!
Please read The Link (Olin’s campus-wide e-bulletin), watch your mail/e-mail for various announcements and invitations, and take a look at the Olin website regularly for news about Olin and upcoming events.
My fellow members of the PAB look forward to working with the entire Olin Parent community, and we encourage you to join in whenever you can!
Sincerely,

Ken Stokes, P’12
Chair, Parent Advisory Board (PAB)
