Olin College : Scholarships

The Office of Post Graduate Planning, along with the Scholarship Committee, coordinates advising and preparation for students interested in applying to competitive international scholarship and fellowship programs. Review the web sites below for information about individual International Study and Research scholarship programs.

In addition, Post Graduate Planning works with faculty advisors to provide assistance to seniors applying for national scholarships to support graduate study in both the United States and abroad.

You can find a list of scholarships and fellowships you may be interested in applying to on the Olin Portal. Click on the students tab. You will see a link to the Funding Booklet there. All Olin students are encouraged to explore the scholarships and fellowships available.

Goldwater Scholarship (1)
Roughly 150 scholarships given each year to undergraduate students who show academic success in the STEM fields and plan to continue their education.
National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (30)
Roughly 2000 Awards given each year
NSF Integrated Graduate Education Research Traineeship - IGERT (3)
125 Awards given annually by the NSF to educate U.S. Ph.D. Scientists & Engineers
United States Antarctic Program (2)
Year-long NSF program for scientific research of the Antarctic
National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate Fellowship (2)
Awarded to applicants who will pursue a doctoral degree in, or closely related to, an area of DoD interest
AT&T Labs Fellowship (1)
Fellowships for under-represented minority and women students pursuing PhD studies in computing and communications-related fields.
Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship
Merit-based scholarship offered to women pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, web design or other IT-related disciplines fields.

General

Stay In MA
Stay in MA scholarships are available for any undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a college or university based in Massachusetts. Scholarships will be awarded up to $100 per event or organization membership fee. Students may apply for up to 3 scholarships per calendar year.

International Study and Research

Churchill Scholarship
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 19—26 with a B.A. or B.S (masters okay but not doctorate) interested in graduate study in engineering, mathematics, or science at Churchill College, Cambridge University.
Fulbright Grants
- Applicants must be graduating seniors and U.S. Citizens interested in teaching English abroad or conducting research abroad.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
- Applicants must be graduating seniors; Citizens of any country outside of the UK and interested in pursuing a PhD.
Marshall Scholarship
- Applicants must be graduating seniors with a 3.7 GPA and a U.S. Citizen insteaded in pursuing higher education in Britain.
Mitchell Scholarship
- Applicants must be graduating seniors who are U.S. Citizens between the ages of 18-0 interested in purusing higher education in Ireland.
Rhodes Scholarship
- Applicants must be graduating seniors and U.S. Citizens who are leaders interested in studying at the University of Oxford and would aid in the promotion of international understanding and peace.

Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program
- Applicants must be currently enrolled or recently graduated student leaders in the U.S. interested in studying biomedical engineering (or bioengineering) to enhance their career. They will study in diverse regions of the world.
