“I came to Olin looking for change in education, not really thinking about how I would effect change.”
“I originally came to Olin because of its academic philosophy. Hands-on learning or 'do-learn'; is definitely the approach to academics that results in the best experience for me. I've found that Olin offers more than a breadth of knowledge in technical subjects, but also the opportunities to develop skills in communication, teamwork, project management, and any number of other 'soft' skills.”
“While academics are important, in my time at Olin my richest experiences have come from activities outside of the classroom. I came to Olin looking for change in education, not really thinking about how I would effect change. I've participated in, and/or lead, several organizations which include our chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, Open, Habitat for Humanity, FILM club, and the Council of Olin Representatives. These activities gave me the chance to work with all parts of the Olin community, from faculty and staff to the Board of Trustees. I had never anticipated how into Olin I would get, or how much I would grow from doing so.”
“Going forward from here, I am planning to enter industry after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. Olin has cultivated a strong interest in design within me, so I hope to start a career in product or industrial design. I also hope to always put myself in situations where I can effect change in whatever I am doing.”
