Hi, I'm Lindsay. I am also a member of Mini Baja. For those of you who don't know what Mini Baja is, it's an SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition for which students design and fabricate parts for a car that can be raced in this competition. I work on the design team for both the driver interface and the suspension as well as on the external relations team. I got to spend time learning exactly how shock absorbers work and was put in charge of CAD-ing and choosing the shocks for our car which was really kind of fun. Like most New Yorkers, I don't own a car. I also don't really have much experience with cars, so it was really cool to be able to do something that could make an impact on the car.
In other news, my floor had Applefest last night. The R2s cooked some apple cobbler, made candied apples and other apple-themed foods along with some delicious hot cider for a study break. Let me just say that the cobbler was the most delicious I have ever had, and really welcome on a cold night. I really like that Olin's culture is such that these sorts of things happen; it was really great to take a break and chat with my floormates over some delicious food. Anyways, it's time to go outside and enjoy the last of the slightly less frigid weather!
