Elisa H. Hamilton

Elisa H. Hamilton is a socially engaged multimedia artist who creates artworks and community-centered programs that emphasize shared spaces and the hopeful examination of our everyday places, objects, and experiences.

Her work has been shown locally and nationally in solo and group exhibitions, and she has been the recipient of numerous commissions and grants to create various artworks and participatory programs.

In 2021, Hamilton was recognized by WBUR as one of 25 Artists Of Color Transforming The Cultural Landscape. She has worked on projects with Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston Children’s Museum, Fitchburg Art Museum, MIT List Visual Arts Center, Boston Center for the Arts, Now+There, HUBweek, ICA Boston, Tyler School of Art, and For Freedoms. Current projects include "Jukebox," a percent-for-art public art commission for the City of Cambridge, MA, and "Creative Union," a participatory public art project being created in collaboration with the Currier Museum of Art and the City of Nashua, NH. Hamilton is a Faculty Member in the Media Design MA program at Emerson College.
