Position Title: Financial Aid Counselor (part-time, 25 hours per week)

Salary range*: $35,568 - $38,184 - $40,800

The Olin College Office of Admission and Financial Aid blends both traditional and innovative enrollment strategies to bring intelligent, adventurous, and entrepreneurial students to the college drawing approximately 25,000 inquiries and roughly 1,000 applications annually. We typically attract over 2500 visitors to campus per year with growing engagement in virtual programming. Olin recognizes the achievement inside and outside the classroom of every admitted student through the Olin Tuition Scholarship which covers half the annual tuition for eight semesters of study. In addition to the Olin Tuition Scholarship, Olin meets demonstrated need for eligible US citizens and permanent residents.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Counselor will also interact and collaborate with Student Accounts, Student Affairs and Resources, the Registrar’s Office and other college constituencies. The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for counseling prospective and current students and their families regarding the Federal and Institutional aid process.  This position is also responsible for assisting the Director with verification, reviewing appeals, and processing federal grants and loans. 


  • Counsel applicants, students, and their families about available sources of financial assistance, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
  • Manage financial aid paperwork flow and communications with students, including maintenance of financial aid inbox and phone line.
  • Coordinate comprehensive Financial Wellness program for prospective and current students.  Programmatic content developed through professional best practice and collaborative work with college constituencies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain financial aid marketing materials and collaborate on yield opportunities.
  • Support Director of Financial Aid in eligibility review and financial aid packaging.   Additional Financial Aid portfolio responsibilities will be contingent upon experience.
  • May represent the Office of Admission and Financial Aid on College committees and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid and Director of Financial Aid.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; minimum of 1-3 years in a student financial aid office in Higher Education; strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, CRMs, and student information systems.
