Olin College Named one of the Nation’s Top Colleges by Princeton Review

Olin College has been named by the Princeton Review as one of the nation’s top colleges and recognized for its academic excellence and student satisfaction.

The results were published in the 2020 edition of the Princeton Review’s popular college guide, The Best 385 Colleges.

In the guide’s ranking lists, which are based on surveys of students, Olin stood out for its dedicated faculty, hard-working and motivated student population and rigorous hands-on engineering program.

In all, Olin placed in the top 20 rankings in 11 different categories:

#2 Best Classroom Experience

#2 Best College Dorms

#3 Professors Get High Marks

#3 LGBTQ-Friendly

#4 Students Study the Most

#11 Least Religious Students

#12 Their Students Love These Colleges

#12 There’s a Game?

#14 Best Career Services

#14 Happiest Students

#17 Lots of Race/Class Interaction

“We are particularly gratified with these rankings because they are based on student surveys,” said Olin College President Richard K. Miller. “To learn that our students hold our professors in such high regard, that we are rated number two nationally for our classroom experience and that we are a top 20 school in student satisfaction and happiness is evidence that our faculty and students engage in a positive learning process every day.”

Drawing on the student surveys, the guide’s profile notes that upon graduation, Olin students emerge as engineers with “fantastic and practical technical skill sets” that they are “able to wield in a variety of settings.” The profile calls Olin’s professors “extremely dedicated” and “interested in how their teaching works,” even as they seek “constant improvement in the curriculum and learning styles.”

The students also come in for recognition as an intelligent and motivated group of individuals who are not your “typical engineer.”

Olin has also been named to several other Princeton Review lists this year, including 2019 Best Value Colleges, Best Northeastern Colleges and #2 for best internships and #23 for financial aid.
