Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Mission Statement

The Office of Institutional Equity and Social Justice is committed to creating and sustaining a campus culture that exemplifies the ideals of a diverse, pluralistic and interconnected global society. Guided by principles of inclusion, multiculturalism, and social justice, we strive to advance engineering education, by centering critical diversity scholarship, in pursuit of academic and institutional excellence.

Office of Institutional Equity and Social Justice

The Office of Institutional Equity and Social Justice strives to provide a holistic approach to diversity by creating partnerships across Olin that promote an accessible and inclusive campus culture. Through intentional leadership and campus-wide initiatives, we hope to develop learning opportunities for students, faculty, and staff that promote an understanding, appreciation, and respect for diverse people in our community.
In an effort to blend equity and social justice into the ever-changing fabric of the institution, our office seeks to engage all members of the Olin community in educational, social, and professional development opportunities. Through these initiatives, we hope to increase one's awareness and understanding of identity, the impact each individual has on others, and encourage progressive ways to apply these multi-modal learning opportunities towards developing a stronger foundation of inclusion at Olin.
By engaging the Olin community in intercultural dialogues that promote and celebrate difference, we hope to empower all individuals to create a welcoming environment that fosters a sense of belonging, mutual understanding and respect. The Office of Institutional Equity and Social Justice is committed to developing meaningful educational opportunities that promote diversity across all facets of the College, enhance institutional success in and out of the classroom, and develop global citizenship both personally and professionally.
