Olin's state-of-the-art campus is a perfect learning laboratory for the kind of hands on, team-oriented education the college offers. Located adjacent to Babson College, the college is nestled on 70 acres in Needham, Mass., a pleasant suburb 14 miles west of Boston.
The campus design is an innovative blend of traditional and futuristic. The five buildings currently completed (three more will be added later) gracefully curve around a central green space, creating a sense of community and echoing the design of the traditional New England college. At the same time, the entire campus is wired for high-tech communications, and designed for easy updating to stay on the cutting edge. The classrooms make use of state-of-the-art instructional media, while the residence halls offer unparalleled desktop connectivity. There is also plenty of meeting and public space to encourage the kind of collaboration called for in modern-day engineering.
But it's not all about high-tech; there are the homey touches and plenty of opportunities for socializing. Each of the double rooms has a private bath, air conditioning, and cable. With the same technological features of West Hall, Olin's newest residence Hall, East Hall features 19 suites, each containing six single occupancy bedrooms, a small living room, two bathroom areas, and a suite-sized microfridge. There are also 32 double occupancy bedrooms.
The choice of Needham was no accident. Not only are we next door to our educational partner, Babson College, we're also perfectly positioned to take advantage of one of the most exciting urban centers in the world.
