Diane Covello is pleased to be teaching a new intellectual property (IP) class at Olin College. In addition, she is a patent attorney with the Hartford, Connecticut law firm of Alix, Yale & Ristas, LLP. Attorney Covello spends most of her time at the firm preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of chemistry, engineering, biotechnology and computerized business processes. She also advises clients on licensing matters and IP issues pertaining to strategic business planning. In the past, Attorney Covello has worked in both large and small law firms, and spent several years as in-house patent counsel for Spalding Sports Worldwide, managing patent preparation, prosecution, licensing and litigation. Her hobbies are jogging, playing tennis, golfing, reading and traveling.
