Description of project:
We are currently dedicated to designing an open source braille learning device for those who have recently lost their vision and are in the process of learning Braille.
By developing this device from scratch with its users in mind, we make impact a tangible part of our engineering and design process. To create it, the team will interact with the visually impaired community both to volunteer and to understand their issues that we could solve with our device. But we need your help.
Ways donation could affect our team:
- Allow us to pay for interviews with members of the visually impaired community so that we may design our device with their collaboration & feedback!
- Help us pay for the cost of ordering, fabricating, and manufacturing the hardware and enclosure of the device!
- Allow us to host team bonding events for our members!
- Allow us to share our work at global health, assistive tech, and engineering conferences and conventions!
