Humans of Olin: Serving People, Society and the Planet
The College needs your help to prepare and empower Humans of Olin to make the world a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable place. We can’t do this important work without your philanthropic support.
Tap the play button in each of the images below to hear Oliners' audio clips. Listen to what excites them about Olin's approach to engineering, what they do at Olin and how that work is guided by a passion to make the world a better place.

Deb Chachra, Professor of Engineering.
“My focus as an educator at Olin College is helping our students learn to think: to engage with the world, to critically evaluate and synthesize what they find, and to have a toolkit for bringing ideas to fruition.
What excites me about Olin’s vision and approach to engineering education is “for everyone”. It’s about creating academic experiences that foster intrinsic motivation and self-directed learning.”

Claire Rodgers, Associate Director for Sustainability and Campus Engineering.
"I am deeply passionate about working towards a world in which we can relate and interact with the planet and people in a way that centers compassion, respect, equity and justice. Many in the Olin community are very passionate about creating change at Olin in the sustainability and climate change space and my role allows me to help bring initiatives to fruition.”

Anmol Sandhu '25, Olin College Sophomore
“On our path to becoming engineers at Olin, we go through the problem-solving process so many times that it just becomes our second nature. That is what distinguishes ‘Humans of Olin’ from our peers in other schools.”

Callan Bignoli, Director of the Library
“Our focus on helping students understand themselves and the world they live in, and their roles in how technology both reflects and impacts society, is what centers my work at Olin. Engineers and technologists wield enormous power that they need to situate in broader historical and social contexts.”

KD Vo '25, Olin College Sophomore
“I want to help people and share kindness through engineering. I want to change the world for the better and overall, make it fun and enjoyable for the next generation to come. I want to help people with design, hopefully in some sort of biomedical way, but I definitely want to pave a path for future generations to learn from. By solving problems and helping out people, I can change the world positively.”
Our greatest need is to raise $900,000 for the Olin Fund during the 2022-2023 fiscal year, which began on July 1 and ends on June 30.
Your unrestricted annual gift will help shape Olin's future by funding facilities and equipment improvements, curricular enhancement, meaningful student experiences and faculty innovation.
