NEWS: Al Bunshaft Named to Olin College Board of Trustees

Al Bunshaft has been named to the Olin College Board of Trustees. He was a longtime member of the President’s Council and has been a friend of Olin for years.
Bunshaft was the Managing Director of Dassault Systèmes Americas. He later created DS Government Solutions and served as its CEO from 2013 to 2016. He ran the company’s education and research unit while creating the Dassault Systèmes US Foundation, the charitable arm of the company’s US presence, where he served as President from 2017 to 2021. Bunshaft has a background in 3D visualization, computer graphics and engineering-related modeling and simulation tools and is a leading voice for STEM education in the United States.

Bunshaft has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career. Prior to joining Dassault Systèmes he led the engineering software division at IBM as part of the company’s software group. He was co-chair of the STEM Innovation Task Force of STEMconnector and was named one of their Top 100 CEO STEM leaders. He served on the US Council on Competitiveness, has been a representative to multiple National Academy of Engineering committees and has served on the Massachusetts Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. He currently serves as a board member at the New York Hall of Science, the American Technical Education Association, Base 11 and is a member of multiple university advisory boards.
He received his BS in computer science and mathematics from the University at Albany, SUNY and has an MS in computer systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
