Olin is the Nation’s No. 2 Undergraduate Engineering Program in 2024 according to U.S. News & World Report

This is the second consecutive year for Olin’s second-place ranking. Olin rose to the No. 2 spot in 2023 after eight consecutive years as the third-ranked undergraduate engineering program in the nation.

Olin’s electrical engineering program rose three spots to a No. 7 national ranking for 2024. Olin’s mechanical engineering program was also ranked as No. 7. Additionally, Olin received a No. 10 ranking in computer engineering for the first time.

This is the second consecutive year for Olin’s second-place ranking. Olin rose to the No. 2 spot in 2023 after eight consecutive years as the third-ranked undergraduate engineering program in the nation.

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings are based solely on the judgements of deans and senior faculty at peer institutions.

Olin College earned a peer assessment score of 4 in the U.S. News survey, where participants were asked to rate programs they were familiar with on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (distinguished). U.S. News has separate rankings for undergraduate engineering programs at colleges that offer doctoral degrees in engineering.

Using a wide range of data sources, U.S. News analysts and editors calculated more than 80 Best Colleges rankings, all with the intent of enabling students and their families to identify colleges that best meet their needs.

The No. 2 U.S. News & World Report ranking is the latest among recent accolades recognizing Olin’s place as a leading institution nationally and globally.

This month, the Princeton Review named Olin one of the nation's best undergraduate institutions, including a repeat of Olin’s No. 1 ranking of “Students Study the Most.” 

Olin also received notable rankings for: 

  • Best Classroom Experience (No. 2)
  • LGBTQ- Friendly (No. 2)
  • Top 20 Best Schools for Internships (No. 2)
  • Their Students Love These Colleges (No. 3)
  • Professors Get High Marks (No. 4)
