Marc Johnson

Marc Johnson joined Olin's Provost's Office in Fall 2026. In this role, he helps the College understand how students experience learning, both inside and outside the classroom, and uses that understanding to inform decisions about Olin's future — focusing on the Olin Learning Journey through students' own eyes.

Marc comes to Olin from Southern New Hampshire University, one of the country's largest providers of higher education and a leader in online learning, where he led efforts to translate student data into actionable insight, identifying where students were thriving, where they were getting stuck and how the university could better support their success.

A graduate of Morehouse College, Marc earned his doctorate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has spent his career in higher education, motivated by the transformative impact college had on his own life and a commitment to giving students that same experience. He draws his energy from collaborating with faculty, staff and students in pursuit of the best possible college experience — a mission that drew him to Olin.

Marc lives in nearby Milton with his wife, Liveda, and son Oliver, a fifth grader. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, snow sports and reading.
