When Oliners graduate, they tend to explore one of three pathways: employment, graduate school and further education, or entrepreneurship. These different experiences allow our graduates to put their hands-on learning to immediate good use.
Employment:
Venturing to places like Blue Origin, Google, Roblox, Mathworks, and Tesla, graduates from Olin dive into a variety of roles. Whether it’s mechanical engineer, software engineer, avionics engineer, or even investment banking analyst, these crucial first roles set up our alumni for years of success. In fact, alumni report a 97% satisfaction rate at their workplace in terms of feeling valued. And, Olin grads make 34k on average more than the median tech graduate!
Further Education:
For some, gaining additional education before the workforce is their best next step after Olin. These graduate and PhD programs happen at wonderful institutions like Cornell, Colorado School of Mines, Texas A&M, and Stanford. Digging deeper into engineering, they study material sciences, aerospace, robotics, and medical engineering by building upon their rigorous technical skillset and experiential background. Believe it or not, 56% of alums have a graduate degree or higher ten years or more after graduating from Olin.
Entrepreneurship:
Creating a business or joining start-ups are highly appealing to Oliners and 1/5th of our alumni has started their own business or been involved in a start-up after ten years’ time. You may even recognize some of the Olin-founded businesses out there. Bigbelly is a solar-powered trash receptacle with thousands of global installations working to make the world cleaner and more efficient. Kyaro is ensuring assistive technology is accessible and affordable in East Africa. Enzyme is a quality management software for the medical industry that integrates with Microsoft 365.
