Nicholas Macke

Chief Human Resources Officer

Nicholas Macke, serving as Chief Human Resources Officer, joined the Olin community in 2022. In his leadership role, Nicholas leads the people function and manages compliance with federal and state labor laws, as well as college personnel policies. Nicholas oversees all HR practices including recruiting, learning and development, talent management, total rewards, and HR systems and operations. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Nicholas is charged with the advancement of the HR strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision for the College and fostering a workplace culture that is consistent with Olin’s commitment to diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion.

Nicholas began his career in HR supporting the faculty and staff community at Milton Academy. Prior to his work at Olin, he served in the senior HR position at New England Conservatory of Music. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

He and his husband currently live on a small hobby farm where they enjoy gardening, beekeeping, and caring for their farmyard animals.
