UROP Fundraising

Research labs play a crucial role in Olin’s culture and educational experience.

Being able to work directly with professors and contribute to highly specialized research as an undergraduate is a rare opportunity not a lot of other colleges offer. The learning opportunities beyond the classroom and the freedom to delve into advanced fields of engineering lead to around 40-50 students being involved in research throughout the school year.

However, research doesn’t stop with the school year. Every year roughly 60 – 70 students earn the exciting opportunity to stay on campus over the summer to continue their research in a paid position. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides critical funding resources to support this endeavor with generous donations from a vast range of donors. Established in 2016, UROP supports undergraduate research programming led by a diverse set of professors and students conducting research that focuses on community engagement, human needs, and creative solutions. Your funds will support research educational sessions, student publication costs, the Olin Undergraduate Research Journal (OUR-J), student research pay, and more.

Your gift will allow us to broaden our research initiatives, creating more opportunities for our students!
