Applying for Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA is available annually on October 1st for the upcoming academic year. The Olin College Federal School Code is 039463. Families interested in applying for need-based aid should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible - keeping in mind the deadlines noted below. We recommend using the IRS Data Retrieval process as it is the most accurate way of completing the FAFSA.

Details + Deadlines

If you wish to apply for need-based aid, the priority deadline for Olin to receive your FAFSA is February 15th. We do not require the CSS Profile.

Need-based aid is offered to U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-Citizens

Financial aid offers for admitted students will be delivered with the admission decision. These offers are considered tentative if verification is required. If we need additional documentation it will be noted in your portal.

Olin should receive your renewal FAFSA by January 1st to renew your need-based aid for the upcoming year.  Students should monitor their student portal to view required documents.  Please respond promptly and submit additional forms if necessary. Currently enrolled students are required to submit verification documents prior to receipt of a financial aid offer.

Olin College verifies all applications selected by the Department of Education as well as institutionally selected applications. We will notify students if required to participate in this process.

Use of the IRS Data Retrieval process will produce the most accurate financial aid offer.  This will also simplify verification documentation requirements.  Please respond promptly to requests for documentation.

  • Incoming students should note that their initial financial aid offer is considered tentative until outstanding documentation is received.

  • Returning students will be required to submit verification documents prior to receipt of a financial aid offer.
