Clinical Supply Chain Environmental Conditions Monitoring System

Pfizer discovers, develops, and manufactures vaccines and medicines to innovate breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. During the Research and Development phase, the investigational medicinal products require reliable storage and logistics to enable a robust clinical supply chain. To ensure the quality and safety of the clinical supply it is important to continue to enhance the effectiveness of the storage condition measures. The 2020-21 Pfizer SCOPE team was tasked with developing sensing technologies to support Pfizer in preserving the quality of the materials in their clinical supply chain with greater efficiency and less waste. The team prototyped hardware, firmware, and software, tested their solutions in Pfizer warehouses, and made recommendations for future steps to implementation of their technology.
