Olin Handball: Competing at U.S. Nationals and Division 2 Northeastern Conference
Olin College is spreading competition to both indoor and beach nationally, and needs YOUR support!

We are so excited to compete nationally again this year, in addition to being invited to the Division 2 Handball Northeastern Conference!
Due to Olin’s small size, competing in national tournaments is groundbreaking for Olin. This year, we are looking to add 3 new tournaments to our calendar and need your help!
Last year, we took home 4th place as a second-year team. This year, we will compete more consistently across multiple disciplines of handball. We are determined to improve, not only by training every week, but also by attending other teams' practices. Due to our small population, we are the only collegiate Co-Ed team, making history with the first female playing in the men's collegiate division. Recognizing the inclusive nature of Olin, we welcome players from all backgrounds.
We hope to continue participating, but we need your help.
Please consider any matching donations your company might offer to non-profit organizations. All funds directly support players' safety, preparation, transportation, lodging and registration for the tournaments. We need all the help we can get to provide this opportunity to Oliners and help us travel to play handball across the nation!
Oliners who competed in nationals last year described the experience as "some of the best memories [they] have from Olin," "one of the coolest experiences [they] have ever had," and "one of the coolest things Olin has to offer us."
Some background on Handball:
Similar to water polo on land, Handball has lots of passing, physicality, and shooting a ball into a net. Each team gets one goalie and six court players. Played on a court slightly larger than a basketball court, players work together to shoot into a net (about futsal size) placed at either end. Court players must stay outside of the "crease," which is almost identical to the placement of a 3-point line. On defense, players can [safely] wrap and push the offense to prevent goals. Handball is incredibly fast-paced, with two 30-minute halves. Scores in the professional league range around 25-35 points per team per game. Each goal counts as one.
We are so excited to compete nationally again this year and look forward to receiving your support!
