End-Effector Design and Concept Exploration for Robotic Assisted Surgery
Robotic surgery is a promising field that has been shown to improve patient outcomes in a variety of procedures by combining surgeon expertise and robotic precision. By reducing variability and increasing surgeon confidence, robotic surgery aims to minimize invasiveness in surgical procedures and improve patient outcome as a result. Johnson & Johnson is a leader in developing new solutions to improve healthcare for the future, with patient wellbeing as their top priority. As a part of this initiative, the Johnson & Johnson 2021-2022 SCOPE team prototyped solutions for manipulation and sensing on their surgical robotic arm.
