  • Pulse: Should be between 50 and 140 beats per minute, not irregular
  • Unresponsive: Does not respond to a firm pinch.

Help for Spaces & Things

Anyone can file a work order to request repairs for anything on campus - this tool is used to report issues with any facilities related issues.  Here are some common facilities work orders for requesting repairs:

  • light out / flickering
  • dripping faucet
  • window blinds not opening
  • cabinet door off hinge
  • HVAC unit issue

You can also utilize the facilities work order system to request special event setups.

  • delivery/setup of folding tables & chairs
  • delivery/setup of sign holders (tabloid & driveway)
  • additional trash & recycling cans
  • dining hall stage/platform

Emergency facilities needs should be called in to public safety via (781)239-5555 to assure immediate response.  This would be any flowing water, leaking gases, fires, power outages, major HVAC issues.

Workorders.oliln.edu is where all facilities requests are filed.  Here are some helpful tips:

  • Be sure to include your email to receive updates from Facilities
  • If you do not know the room number, leave that slot blank and describe the location the best you can in the text box
  • Do not file duplicate work orders - email workorders@olin.edu if you are seeking an update.  Forward along the original email receipt to allow the facilities team to look up your request number.

The IT Helpdesk is your go-to for any technology related issues on campus.  From issues with your Olin laptop, email, or WiFi to printer troubleshooting and AV help the helpdesk has it covered!

East & West Hall laundry machines are owned and maintained by CSC Service Works and students can directly request repairs on their website at https://www.cscsw.com/request-service/

On the my.olin.edu portal you can find a listing of all the laundry machine ID numbers incase you have already returned to your room and need to request a repair.  We encourage you to forward receipt of these work orders to ResLife@olin.edu & WorkOrders@olin.edu to allow us to follow up with the vendor.

Your fastest source for solutions in the Residence Halls is your R2 or the R2 on call who can be reached at (781)953-0061.  We also have ResLife@olin.edu where you can direct any general questions or needs.  From here we might forward things like a lack of dry erase markers or empty printer tray to a student employee or connect you to your R2 or Hall Director depending on the need at hand.

In the residence halls, it can be tricky to know what to work order via facilities, request help from the helpdesk@olin.edu, or report to reslife@olin.edu for repair or refill.  Here is a quick list of items ResLife manages:

  • Contents of Community Kitchens, like small appliances and cooking utensils (but not the walls, floors, stove, fridge, or sink)
  • East Hall Gym Equipment and the contents of the Ball & Bicycle Room
  • TVs & Collections in Lounge Cabinets (some are collaborations with clubs, like the Board Game Collective)
  • Bedroom, Suite, & Lounge Furniture (though we work with facilities on the labor of moving items)
  • Printer paper but not toner (toner and other issues can be reported to helpdesk@olin.edu)

If you are experiencing an issue and it is not an emergency, we welcome you to send it to ResLife@olin.edu and if it’s not something we can fix we will let you know and walk you through other repair request options.
